Do you care about market share?

We are introducing what we believe is the best and most current data and forecast to help US building products companies size their market and track their growth rates relative to the addressable market.

John Burns Research and Consulting and Home Innovation Research Labs are proud to introduce the Building Products Demand Meter (“the Demand Meter”). This innovative new product:

  • tracks current and historical US residential installed volumes (final demand) for 18 major building product categories going back decades;
  • forecasts; and
  • has significant subcategory detail available on a customized basis.

The Demand Meter tracks products ranging from dimensional lumber, siding, HVAC, and interior paint back to 2000. It is available for both the new construction and the repair and remodel segments of the US residential building products market, including absolute installed volumes and year-over-year growth rates. Home Innovation Research Labs has been tracking this data through the most extensive surveys in the industry since 1964.

Here are the building products categories that we now track with the Demand Meter:

Here’s an example of the new Demand Meter data for Dimensional Lumber. Installed residential volumes are projected to decline -3.5% this year.
